Here’s an item sure to get the Fox News crowd foaming at the mouth- The Arkansas Democrat Gazette (newspaper subscribers only- sorry!) reports that the “first bilingual postal service location in Arkansas opens Thursday in Springdale, the U.S. Postal Service announced”. From the way the story is worded, it’s apparently a contract station: “The service will be provided at Snappylogos Inc. at 3138 Old Missouri Road. Customers can buy stamps and use express and priority mail service, receiving help in English and Spanish.”

Update: The APWU contract ratified today has this provision:

A task force will explore the creation of Bilingual Sales and Service Associate positions for areas where there are insufficient bilingual employees and the community has a diverse population;
