Thieves hit drive through collection box in California town
Press release from the Roseville, CA Police Department:
Between 7 p.m. on September 3 and 8 a.m. on September 4, someone pried one of the four mail collection boxes loose from the drive-through mail drop-off area at the United States Post Office at 1830 Sierra Gardens Drive. The thief broke into the mailbox and removed most of its contents, then dumped the mailbox nearby.
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is investigating the mail theft. Anyone who may have had mail stolen from the collection box is asked to file a report by calling the U.S. Postal Inspection Service at (877)876-2455, 24 hours a day. Victims of identity theft that occur as a result of this theft may file a report at https://www.usps.com/postalinspectors/mailthft/idtheft.htm .
