I believe working as Casual Mail Handler you have right to work 2 appointments for 90 days period in a year.You will find out just 2 days before like me in Wednesday your last day is Friday.Good luck to you if you think you gonna become someday Career employee in Usps.I have almost 3 years as Casual Clerk and they let me go.
I’m going for Rca,because you’re safe and have Union behind you and they can’t let you go just like that.

how long will i be a causual mail handler? is this for 90 days or will i work up to a year then they let me know if they want to keep me or not? how do i make it as a regualr if im a casual, im confused

I get today a letter by my Manager notification of termination,and for you who is still working as Casuals better watch for your self over there.There just let you know 2 days before you’re not working anymore.How Human is that?

I am a casual and we work 6 days a week and all of the casuals here are off only on tue, wed, or thur no way can u be off on a weekend. We also work all holidays. even though working six days a week u never really seem to hit 40 hrs much less any over time. the careers get two breaks and a lunch while we get a lunch and maybe another break if they allow it. For all those ignorant people who dont know YES we do the EXACT amount of work if not more. for the regulars complaining about the casuals, bet you really enjoy taking your annaul leave and vacation ect.. who the hell do you think is covering for ass at work. I was excited when I was called from the usps, I thought I might just start my life and stay here and make it a career I was sadly mistakin. Im not complaining just giving my input. BTW I just got a call from another employer so I wont be a takin advantage of ne more. fyi

They can do nothing about so call”Regulars”because thay have the Union standing behind them.Who we have?They said to me be happy you still have a job.They cut my hours from 36 per week to 25 starting this week.I talk with Union Sterward last night and he said is not nice,but he can’t do nothing about it.Funny isn’t?

what you Regulars need to know is that the Postal service is about to contract all the work out leaving only a few USPS EMPLOYEES as Oversight.

why would cut casual that getting paid so less than regulars. regulars making x3 of what we earn ,they work slow and they file grievance alot. they call in every friday and casuals doing multiple automation machine.

last night my other supervisor gave me a notification of termination for non -career employee. can i apply for unemployment? i’m a veteran and post office is the one leaning for a career but they failed me and my fellow casuals. we work 6 days a week 35hrs. 1230 am to 630am everyday and work in 050 every monday,they dont let us take our first break.

10 years as a casual there people at my plant with 15, and 20 as a casual you must be crazy as hell and its not about leaving we should be treated with respect like everybody else we do dam near all the work if not all the work and its wrong so if your happy with 10 years thats means nothing good for you but now its time for somebody to do something me and my group of casuals got together and sent obamas camp our pay wages the paycut the mailhanlders pay wages the clerks pay wages and the supervisors pay wages they make 10 times as much as we make and I hope they go under for fu*king over us like this for all theses years even if they cant help us the have gotten away with this for to long even there union says its not right and they are apart of it to because when they do there new contract they can add us in there even its one sentence that would stop all this crap we would be protected alittle bit but what goes around comes around an there time is almost up.

Are you really working as Casual for 10 years?Why?Did you ever take Battery Exam and what’s your score?For God sake whay yhey didn’t make at least Ptf so you can have at least benefits.I can’t understand this.
I’m my self working as Casual,but not for long like this.No security,no benefits,nothing.Screw this.No any regulars who is working in my PO is better than me.
