USPS Executive bonuses for 2008
TweetPay for Performance
The Postal Service’s Pay-for-Performance (PFP) program continued to drive organizational achievement. (Performance results are highlighted in Chapter 6.) Unlike most government agencies that provide regular, across-the-board pay increases, PFP is the sole source of annual pay adjustments for non-bargaining unit employees.
The award-winning program has been cited by several independent entities as a model for other agencies to emulate. The foundation of the evaluation system is a balanced scorecard of objective, independently verifiable measures of service, workplace environment, productivity, and financial performance. Performance indicators are measured at national, area, district, business unit, and individual levels so that meaningful performance distinctions are made within the line-of-sight of all managers. Individual contributions are linked to organization success through these performance indicators. Core performance requirements and individual results are recorded in the Performance Evaluation System.
New service performance indicators were baselined in 2009 for Standard Mail and Presort First-Class Mail along with other mailing services products.
Pursuant to §39 U.S.C. 3686(d), the Postal Service hereby reports that during calendar year 2008 the following individuals received compensation in the amounts listed in excess of the rate for level 1 of the Executive Schedule under section 5312 of title 5:

funny how NOTHING ever trickles down the the people that actually carry the mail on their backs
January 4th, 2010 12:58
How can you justify a bonus when YOU LOST MONEY????
January 4th, 2010 15:02
This is for 2008, you dolts.
January 4th, 2010 19:41
the frends and family get their rewards no matter what they do.
January 4th, 2010 21:12
Cheese…..duno if ya know this or not….but we LOST money in 2008 too!
January 4th, 2010 21:31
After reading through these names and bonus amounts, I’m sure everyone will make sure they make an extra effort when they report to work. LOL
January 4th, 2010 21:55
Award winning program? Model for other agencies? Don’t they know this program is responsible for the agency’s demise? All they worry about are their individual numbers not common sense and the USPS bottom line. The bosses paid me 45 mins OT to deliver 2-44 cent letters that arrived to the station late – just so their numbers will look good.
January 4th, 2010 22:08
man am I glad I retired!!!
January 4th, 2010 22:41
And the grand total is $1,119,574.00. Where else can you go and be in management and manage your company in the hole and get rewarded for it ? By the way, did all you city carriers get back in 8hrs. like the great dois program says ? And for all you clerks we need for you to work faster and get off the clock as soon as you are finished. We have bonuses to give. If someone retires we will not replace them because you will get the mail worked with less peeps.

What a slap in the face to those of us who really work in this organization and put up with daily harassment from these low-life’s who are obviously chasing numbers for their own gain.I wish congress would take a long look at management in the post office.

My husband gets in trouble if he is a couple of units late!! He never takes a sick day because he will get written up. way to go post office!!
January 5th, 2010 22:14
Post Office management is so corrupt, it boggles the imagination.
January 5th, 2010 22:28
are you serious with all your complaints about “bonus payments”? Yes – some of these are crazy…but I love how craft employees lump ALL management into the same pile. I guess its a good thing we dont lump all good craft with the bad…and you know they are out there…the bad ones….
…You love to berate the payments that I get, but I have never received anything like those listed above, yet I no longer get OT, no longer get step increases, no longer get COLA’s and have no gaurantee that I will get your so called bonus each year….Yet when I pass out paystubs every two weeks I am always one of the least paid employees in my 87 employee office…..
so, go cry to someone else.

These bonuses amont to stealing. Bad enough I have to put in 10 hour days while they’ve cheated many on NPA, then I had to read this. I’ll have to cut my expenses this year so I’ll start with paying all my bills online, using fedex, ups for packages, stop paper statements and go green, block my credit report from unwanted promotions from bankrupted companies needing handouts. I bet they’ll get a higher bonus next year. As for the banks, move my money to credit union and community banks.
January 6th, 2010 18:54
Hey bsummerfield— Yea, we are serious ! I think someone hit a nerve with you saying that All management is lumped into the same pile. Unless the shoe fits you should not be bothered by such comments. Also, you mention craft loves to berate the payments you get. We get one payment every two weeks. How many do you get ? You also say to go cry to someone else….. Listen to your words: Yet I no longer get OT, no longer get step increases, no longer get COLA’s and have no gaurantee that I will get your so called bonus each year…. Wait a minute, was that you, I just heard sniffle? Come on over I have a box of kleenex I will share. One more, if you are not grouped with the ” BAD” management, when was the last time you recognized one of your employees for a job well done? Maybe it is the work they do that allows you to get a bonus.
January 6th, 2010 19:56
I think that the payments are only a fraction of the bonus’ given nation wide. If you have your years in as a craft employee you no longer get step increases. COLA’s are in the tank right now. We have a negotiated agreement between management and craft. (.That is right both sides signed it.) yet, management seems to violate it on a daily basis. You complain about your compensation but yet you are the one that wanted to be management and not one of the finest and most respected craft employees in the country. So call the Wambulance already.
January 7th, 2010 06:57
To bsummerfield: Who is really crying here? If you don’t like it you can always put the bag back on your shoulder. That will never happen!!!!
January 7th, 2010 18:37
ok, I see – I, just like all of you get upset about $$$..But do not tell me that anyone of you dont get upset when someone else gets something you don’t….That is what started the blog to begin with.
As for carrying…I did…for 13 years. I then fell through roof chasing an iraqi through the rooftops in Baghdad in 2001. So, don’t talk before you know what it is your talking about. Unless you have 14 inches of lower right leg you can give me back!!!!!
As for being lumped into one group…..not just postal employees read this blog….the post I mentioned makes it sould like we are ALL TERRIBLE. I for one still pay my dues to my original NALC branch!!!!! I believe in the union!!!!
I take heat every year from my superiors as I am one of dying breed that request “adding” routes to my office, award my employees with gift card (my own pocket) birthday cards, office meals (my own pocket), perfect attendance gifts ect…and to tell you the truth….It makes me so frustrated to have an employee shred his Lands End Jacket that he got for perfect attendance and give it back in a bag and state..”I don’t decerve this…it came from management and the only reason I am here everyday is to suck as much OT as I can and cause you stress…”
I know where I stand
March 9th, 2010 22:31
Only a Postal Employee would know the ills and evils of this. I’m a retired letter carrier from NE Ohio and we see the bonusus paid our local do nothings. It really makes you want to go out and bust your butt so they can get more the next year. And they stay inside and play video games all day. I see Potter got “just a small one”.
March 15th, 2010 21:12
Good (bosses) are a thing of the past. Almost all, in
every hard working American’s life are in management
to get some for themselves. Nothing will ever change at the post office until Obama appoints our next postmas-
ter general who is truely loyal to the P.O. its employees and the USPS clients, instead of that attitude of; “what can I put in my pocket while I’m here.” If the crooks
in the P.O. are weeded out at the top first and they
work their way down we could possibly end up with the
postal service we once were proud to be part of.

HOW TRUE IT IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
