Lima Ohio postal workers get transfer paperwork

The Lima News reports that workers at the Lima Processing and Distribution Center received “transfer paperwork” yesterday. The USPS began the closing in July and expects to have moved all the processing machines to Toledo by October.

Fourteen mail handlers, employees who load and unload mail at the Hanthorn Road Processing and Distribution Center, will be transferred half and half to Columbus and Toledo,

Eighty jobs are leaving the area with the Postal Service’s decision to close the plant it built in the 1990s and move the processing of mail in the 458 ZIP codes from Lima to Toledo.

I don”t believe they are as Toledo can not at the current time handle all of Lima’s mail or their machines.
