USA Today reports that the Supreme Court has agreed to hear an appeal in the case of Myrna Gómez-Pérez vs. the US Postal Service. Gomez-Perez claimed that she was harassed after she filed an age discrimination complaint against the USPS. An Appeals Court ruled that while the law prohibits age discrimination, it does not prohibit retaliation against employees who file discrimination claims, a decision one commentator referred to as “startling”.

The case is not likely to be heard until the new year.
