Consider the new responsibilty being placed on postal workers in India:
The State government has roped in the postal personnel to further the message on the Total Sanitation Campaign in rural areas. The community’s trust in the postal personnel is being explored such that the Grameen Dak Sevaks will now disseminate information on the need to overcome open defecation habits and create a clean environment.
A Memorandum of Understanding themed ‘Swachcha Karnataka’ was inked in this regard on Wednesday by Chief Post Master General (Karnataka Circle) Meera Datta and Principal Secretary Rural Development and Panchayat Raj M R Srinivasmurthy.
