Your Congress at work
Congress may not have had the time to pass the bills required to fund the federal government this fiscal year, but maybe that’s because they were hard at work solving some far more pressing issues- here are a couple of items they dealt with in the Postal Reform Act passed Friday night:
“Not later than September 30, 2007, the United States Postal Service shall assign a single, unified ZIP code to serve, as nearly as practicable, each of the following communities:
(1) Auburn Township, Ohio.
(2) Hanahan, South Carolina.
(3) Bradbury, California.
(4) Discovery Bay, California.”
And, on an issue that is surely second only to the War On Terror® in the minds of Americans, the act requires:
“Not later than 60 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the United States Postal Service shall provide the same window service hours for the Fairport Harbor Branch of the United States Post Office in Painesville, Ohio, as were in effect as of December 1, 2005.”
